This week we talk about the 5 kinetic chains and why they are so important to you getting in shape and staying well. If you don’t address these 5 chains, you will always have problems. Welcome to Dr. Devin’s Wellness Wednesday Workshop where my goal is to help you maintain or improve your active lifestyle. We will answer these questions today:

  1. o It sets the foundation for movement and locomotion. It is interdependent with the nervous system. Its principal act is breathing.
  2. It is responsible for pushing your toe off when you walk.
  3. Gait cycle
    1. Deep longitudinal
      1. Shock absorption
      2. Kinetic energy is absorbed and translated into the axis of the spine
    2. Lateral
      1. Completes the dynamic platform for the power generating spirals
    3. Posterior spiral
      1. Coils fascial spring tension
    4. Anterior spiral
      1. Energy is translated through into forward motion and next phase of absorption – deep longitudinal
  4. Everyone is crooked man.
